In responding to the inner spirit representing the exploration and integration of cutting-edge life sciences and the architectural design with the theme of “Genetic Code” in the “Interdisciplinary Research Building”, the connotation of public art installation, “Flowing Memories of Life”, interprets the relationship between human and the world further by the perspective of social science, such as philosophy and art.
In this case, ring shaped artwork was established to make analog to non-linear characteristics of time in the science and philosophy field in depth. By different aspect of the work, it has been explained that time is not a hollow physical scale but a time property that correspond to living contents practically. Among them, “Mustard Seeds and Mount Meru” by Artist Lin Shun-Long interprets world structure where science and mind reflecting each other by the transformation between macroscopic and microscopic view existed in philosophy, art and science. “Fusion‧Seeds:‧A New Future” by Japanese artist, Tominaga Yasuo, presents the passing through between “kingdom” and “kingdom” and the flowing essence of life by the ground scenery art installation that seems to break through the earth ground. “A Weaving of Land and Memories” by Female Rukai artist, Eleng Luluan, introduces a life perspective with different time and history direction by depicting the human spiritual world from natural tribe.
